Minutes of E362 meeting Feb-4-97 19:30 - 21:30 K.Nakamura, K.Nishikawa, T.Maruyama, T.Inagaki, T.Nakamura, M.Kohama, M.Etoh, T.Ishii, S.Mine, T.Kobayashi, A.Sakai, T.Ishida, T.Chikamatsu, K.Miyano, I.T.Lim, Y.Oyama 1)Lead glass beam test (Kobayashi) T.Kobayashi reported about a beam test for the lead glass counters in INS. They used 1.3GeV electron beam from electron syncrotron. The test period was 7 days, from Jan.27 to Feb.2. They had troubles on the accelerator in the first half of the period, but they successfully took data in the second half. A total of 9 lead glass counters are arranged in 3 x 3, and the beam axis is fixed to the center of the lead glasses. They changed the beam energy from 50 MeV to 1100 MeV, and studied the response of the central lead glass counter. They conclude that the linearity of the counter is reasonably good, and energy resolution of the counter is found to be (10.40 +/- 0.07) % / E**(1/2). They are now working on a test using cosmic ray muons. 2)muon meeting (Ishii) T.Ishii reported on summary of the muon meeting. Please read the memo which was distributed by Ishii. 3)Scifi meeting M.Sakuda reported on scifi meeting in Kobe University. Suzuki (Kobe) distributed a summary of the meeting. 4)Horn(Kohama) Kohama reported the a hut to install the horn was built in Feb.5. They need to do operation tests of the first horn for 3 months and of the second horn for 1 month. Detaied schedule was not fixed yet. 5)Beam monitor(Maruyama) Maruyama reported on the progress of the beam monitors. They are planning a MA-PMT calibration in February and optics test of the mirror in March. 6)Online/Offline(Sakai) A.Sakai pointed out that we must discuss about data acquisition of GPS clock. He also pointed out that we have a problem on ZBS in DEC/Alpha workstations (Please read his report.) Y.Oyama
