E362 FD weekly meeting, KEK Computer Center, 96/07/23 (Tues), 10:00-12:00, TV-Conference with ICRR Present:Nishikawa,Chikamatsu,Sakai(INS),Nakamura,Ohyama,Ishida,Sakuda(KEK,memo), Kohama(Kobe),Nakamura(Niigata),Maruyama(Tohoku), Itow(ICRR) (1) Etou reports from Nagaya (NagoyaU/KobeU/Etou) that they made 7 sheets(xx) x 40cmx1.5m, 20 sheets x 20cmx1.5m, 10 sheets x 8cmx15cm,and 1 sheet x 32cm x 2.7m. Enough for beam test and bench test. (2) Horn status (reported by Kohama): SuzukiY(KEK) et al successfully finished the test operation of power supply with a dummy load on July 19; 2 sec period, pulse-mode operation. They designs the copper strip lines. Kohama calibrates the coil of the current monitor by rotating it under a magnetic field and measures the pulse-height vs frequency of the rotation. (3) Nakamura(Niigata) reports the status of the LG simulation. Questions:(1) Check the shower loss in the water, Emeasured/Etrue=0.9?? (2) Can one track sample be used for nu_e +n -> e + p tag?? Presently, he uses only 2 track sample. (3) Check the thickness of iron in LG support structure. (4) Chikamatsu Leak test for F/B muon chambers will begin next week. Muon chamber simulation:(1) Total iron thickness = 2m is good enough. (2) For example, Iron thickness of (10cmx3 + 20cmx8) gives a reasonable energy resolution. He has almost finished the optimization of iron thickness. He will report his simulation study on Aug.5-6 meeting. (5) Sakuda shows a tentative schedule of the front detector construction for 1996-1998, which will be presented at a Physics/Accelerator joint meeting this Friday. Please comment. (A copy is sent to ICRR) (6) Sakai will set up the readout system of fiber-(IIT-MCP-CCD)-FADC-VME soon. We like to optimize the readout scheme as soon as possible. (7) Nishikawa writes the agenda of August 5-6 collaboration meeting this week. //
