Studencie IV-go lub V-go roku:
With 500 days of data collected in the Super-Kamiokande detector a significant anisotropy was observed in the angular distribution of atmospheric neutrinos. Oscillations of muon neutrinos fit best the observations ( PRL 81, 1562 (1998). ![]()

Main goals of the Super-Kamiokande experiment
- Study of neutrino properties
- Atmospheric Neutrinos
- Solar Neutrinos
- Search for proton decays
- Search for Supernova neutrinos (already heading toward us!)

Detector:
The world largest detector, filled with 50 000 tons of ultra-pure water is located in the tunnel of Kamioka mine in Japan.

About 100 physicists from Japan, USA and Poland participate in the experiment.
From Poland:Urszula Golebiewska is currently in Japan, where she participates in the construction of the new K2K experiment, which will search for oscillations of neutrinos produced in KEK accelearator and sent to Super-Kamiokande
