The new Graduate
Brochure is now on the web.
The department of Physics and Astronomy is starting new graduate programs
in a new thesis oriented master's degree program and in the ChaMP
(Chemical and Materials Physics) program pioneered by Peter Taborek.
We have also revised our graduate
curriculum.
We are revising our undergraduate curriculum to make them more phenomena
and computational oriented with practical education included, as described
by our undergraduate committee chair Bill
Heidbrink.
Our excellent lecture
demonstration program has recently been put on the web by Ferdi Badescu
and
John
Rosendahl.
Tammy
Smecker-Hane has recently founded the UCI
Astronomy Club described in our
newsletter.
The complete description of our department projects, researchers,
on campus labs, and off campus labs are in the
faculty
research pages , the
group
research pages , and our five
department
newsletters. These include strong experimental and theoretical groups
in condensed matter, plasma physics, high energy laboratory physics, high
energy cosmic physics, gravity, and in astrophysics and astronomy.
